Films from 10 countries vying at FIFF

The Fajr Int'l Film Festival in Iran announces selection for international competition.

The Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) in Iran has announced the official selection for the international competition section of the underway edition of the event.

Eleven films from ten countries are selected to take part in the international competition section of the 41st edition of the FIFF.

The films include Belgian ‘Rebel’ by Adel el-Arabi and Bilal Fallah, Indonesian ‘Before, Now & Then’ by Kamila Andini, ‘For My Country’ by Rachid Hami from France, and Japanese ‘Love Life’ by Koji Fukada.

Romanian ‘R.M.N’ by Cristian Mungiu, French ‘Saint Omer’ by Alice Diop, Belgium ‘Tori and Lokita’ by Jean-Pierre Dardenne and Luc Dardenne, ‘Self Defense’ by Andrea Braga from Argentina, and Iraqi-Syrian ‘Landless’ by Touraj Aslani are also among the films competing at the event’s international section.

Two films from Iran, namely Ahmad Bahrami’s ‘Wastetown’ and ‘Life & Life’ by Ali Qavitan, are also taking part in the same section.

The 41st edition of the FIFF, headed by Mojtaba Amini, kicked off on Wednesday and will run until February 11.
